Tire Balancing In Edmonton

What Is Balancing?

Tire balancing is like tune-up service for your mounted tires. The balancing process makes sure that weight is distributed evenly around the tire/wheel unit, this optimal balance ensures the tire rolls smoother, safer, and more efficient. Tires become out of balance as you drive, there may be weight imbalances during the manufacturing process, and even the slightest weight difference can cause a vibration or other problems.

Signs You May Need A Balance

When your tires are out of balance, it may seem like a small inconvenience, but the problem can lead to various other issues. The most common problem you may notice is uneven and faster tread wear, causing you to spend more on tires throughout the lifespan of your equipment. However, you may also experience uncomfortable rides, poor fuel economy, reduced braking ability, and even wear on your equipment's suspension as it absorbs the excess vibrations.

How Balancing Is Performed

Tire balancing is completed directly in our shop. The staff at Transport Tire Edmonton will attach your wheel/tire unit to a balancing machine, this machine will spin your wheel and detect any vibrations caused by a imbalance of weight, it will also give the technician information on how to fix the imbalance. If an imbalance is detected, the technician will add tiny weights (called wheel weights) to your rim and will check again to ensure the correct balance has been achieved.

Don't Wait

If you are experiencing uneven tire wear, or especially vibrations, you may need a balancing. However, many of the symptoms of an out-of-balance tire could indicate a much more serious issue such as a bent rim, damaged suspension, and more. Curious to find out if your equipment's tires need balancing? Contact Transport Tire Edmonton and our associates will be happy to discuss how to detect an imbalance, and if needed, perform the service.
